Jalan Rumbia Condominium
A 63.65 kWp ballast-mounted solar panel installation on the flat concrete roof of a River Valley condominium at Jalan Rumbia, Singapore, with 95 panels set in long tilted rows in front of the residential towers, installed by Rezeca Renewables in 2026

Rezeca Renewables installed a 63.65 kWp solar PV system on the rooftop of a condominium along Jalan Rumbia, in the River Valley area of Singapore. The system was switched on in October 2026.
The array uses 95 AIKO 670 Wp panels and three Huawei inverters. The solar power goes to the estate's common-area electricity, which lowers the MCST's daytime bill from day one. At 63.65 kWp, the system is estimated to generate about 73,200 kWh of electricity a year.
What made this rooftop work
- Roof space: the 95 panels are laid out around roof access and SCDF fire-access clearances.
- No drilling: the mounting frames sit on concrete ballast blocks, so the roof waterproofing stays intact.
- Easy upkeep: a dedicated PV distribution board with an emergency stop, an isolator beside each inverter, and labelled AC and DC trunking.
- Quick to install: the whole installation took about 2 weeks.
Is every condo roof suitable for solar?
Not all condo roofs are suitable for solar. Roof space, equipment already on the roof, shade from nearby towers and how much power the common areas use all decide whether the numbers work. Rezeca checks each of these on a site visit before proposing a system. For commercial and strata properties, payback typically falls within 2 to 4 years.
Condo solar questions
Who decides whether a condo installs solar?
For a system on the common roof, the decision sits with the MCST, with approval from the subsidiary proprietors at a general meeting.
What does condo solar power?
Most condominiums are on a master meter, so solar output offsets common-area electricity such as lighting, lifts, pumps and shared facilities.
Do the panels need drilling into the roof?
Not on this project. On a flat concrete roof, ballast-mounted frames sit on concrete blocks, so the roof waterproofing is not penetrated.
How long does installation take?
On this 63.65 kWp condominium system, the whole installation took about 2 weeks.
