Beyond Business: Powering Communities with Clean Energy

Rezeca Renewables believes solar energy should benefit everyone — not just those who can afford it. Since 2014, we've been bringing clean energy to underserved communities in Laos, Thailand, and Singapore.

From electrifying remote village schools in Luang Prabang that had never had electricity, to powering a rural education centre in Chiangmai, to sponsoring solar panels forthe NUS Solar Proa vessel, to volunteering with CWA seniors right here in Singapore — our CSR work is core to who we are. In July 2025, we were officially recognised as a Company of Good by Singapore's National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC).

CSR Projects Across Southeast Asia

From off-grid solar schools in remote Laos villages to powering education centres in Thailand and volunteering with Singapore seniors — each initiative creates lasting, measurable impact.

Off-Grid Solar for Village Schools in Laos

International CSR · Laos
Bringing electricity to remote schools 2014–2019 · YMCA · NTU Earthlink · Yingli Solar
In partnership with YMCA of Singapore, NTU's Earthlink group, and Yingli Solar, Rezeca installed off-grid solar systems in remote schools across Luang Prabang Province, Laos — villages that previously had no electricity and relied entirely on daylight. These installations transformed education and community life, enabling extended learning hours and evening gatherings.
Three Village Projects:
Ban Keng Khene & Ban Lad Khammune
Sponsored LED lights and holders for the village school of Ban Keng Khene, four hours upstream from Luang Prabang. Installed a 3kW solar power system to power LED lights and fans at the secondary school in Ban Lad Khammune, another hour upstream.

Solar CSR Project Powers Rural School in Chiangmai

International CSR · Thailand
HiArt Education Centre at Wat Kong Sai School · Completed June 2025
Rezeca completed its latest CSR initiative by bringing renewable energy to the HiArt Education Centre in Wat Kong Sai School, Chiangmai, Thailand. This cross-border project was a collaboration between Rezeca Renewables (SG), Rezeca Engineering (TH), and partners HiArt Pte Ltd, Trina Solar, and JJ-LAPP.

Rezeca installed a 5.4 kWp solar PV system on the school building, enabling reliable clean electricity for lighting, fans, computers, and other essential classroom equipment for underprivileged children in the local community. The system is expected to generate 6,500–8,000 kWh of solar energy annually.
Real Impact, Year After Year:
6,500–8,000 kWh of clean solar energy generated annually
Estimated annual savings of SGD $1,100–$1,400
Annual carbon offset of 3,300–4,000 kg CO₂ (equivalent to planting 150–180 trees)
A continuous donation that supports people and planet for 15+ years

CWA Seniors Volunteering Programme

Community Volunteering · Singapore
Ongoing quarterly engagement with Caregiving Welfare Association
On 6 November 2025, a team of Rezeca volunteers spent the afternoon with 25 elderly participants at Caregiving Welfare Association (CWA), leading a series of lighthearted and creative activities. What began with simple games soon turned into a meaningful exchange of stories, smiles, and new friendships.

The seniors were delighted by Bingo games, paper airplane contests, and traditional marbling fan crafts — each designing their own one-of-a-kind fan with swirling colours. Through these activities, the seniors exercised both mind and body, spending an afternoon feeling accompanied, valued, and young again. This volunteering effort is part of Rezeca's broader CSR mission and will continue on a quarterly basis.
Real Impact, Year After Year:
Interactive Bingo games sparking laughter and friendly competition
Paper airplane contests bringing out playful creativity
Traditional marbling fan crafts — each senior designed a unique fan
Ongoing quarterly programme — stay tuned for updates

It's not about doing something big — it's about making someone feel seen and happy again. We wanted to bring warmth, laughter, and human connection, and I think we all left with full hearts.

Solar Panel Sponsorship for Project Solar Proa

Innovation Partnership · Singapore
Wind-solar-powered hybrid vessel · NUS School of Computing · March/April 2026
Rezeca Renewables is proud to be a solar panel sponsor for Project Solar Proa, a pioneering wind-solar-powered hybrid vessel being developed at the National University of Singapore (NUS) School of Computing. Together with Aiko Solar, Rezeca supplies the solar panels that power the 9-metre Roti Proa II — a carbon-neutral day tourism vessel inspired by traditional Austronesian outrigger designs.

The vessel features a 4kW on-board solar array providing continuous zero-emission operation, combined with traditional sails. Designed for eco-tourism applications across tropical Southeast Asia — including island-hopping, snorkelling, and coastal exploration — the project demonstrates how solar technology can extend beyond rooftops to power sustainable maritime transport.
Why this matters:
Extends solar beyond rooftops — powering carbon-neutral maritime transport
Supporting NUS student innovation in sustainable engineering
Zero fuel costs, zero emissions — quiet operation for eco-tourism
Combines traditional Austronesian sailing with modern solar technology
