Best Solar Panel Brands in Singapore 2026: Aiko, Trina, LONGi, Jinko & REC Compared

A 2026 comparison of the leading solar panel brands for Singapore, from a company that has installed them. Aiko, Trina, LONGi, Jinko and REC compared on efficiency, heat tolerance and warranty.

Premium all-black solar panels on a Singapore landed home, comparing Aiko, Trina and other leading 2026 panel brands
Quick answer: For Singapore's tropical climate in 2026, the best solar panels combine high efficiency with a low temperature coefficient (how well they hold output in heat). Rezeca today standardises on Aiko Neostar (N-type ABC, up to 24.5% efficiency), because ABC cell technology currently leads the market on efficiency, heat tolerance, and aesthetics. As an Aiko partner since 2024, Rezeca was among the first installers in Singapore to adopt ABC technology. Over 17 years we have also installed Trina, LONGi, Jinko, and REC, which is why we can compare them from direct experience rather than datasheets alone. For Singapore's heat, prioritise a low temperature coefficient and proven cell technology over headline wattage, and choose an installer with a long local track record.

What actually matters when choosing solar panels in Singapore

Most "best solar panel" lists are written for temperate climates, or assembled from spec sheets by people who have never fitted the panels. Singapore is different, and so is our perspective. Our equatorial heat, intense UV, and high humidity place unique demands on panels, and the brand that ranks highest globally is not always the best choice for a rooftop in Bukit Timah or Sentosa. Having installed across the major brands over 17 years, four things matter most here:

  • Temperature coefficient: how much output the panel loses per degree above 25°C. This matters more in Singapore than almost anywhere, because rooftop panels routinely reach 55 to 70°C. (We cover this in depth in our guide to solar performance in Singapore heat.)
  • Module efficiency: how much of the sunlight hitting the panel becomes electricity. Higher efficiency means more power from limited roof space, which matters on compact landed-home roofs.
  • Degradation rate: how quickly the panel loses output over its 25 to 30 year life. Lower is better.
  • Warranty and manufacturer stability: a 30-year warranty is only worth anything if the manufacturer is still around to honour it.

The leading panel brands in Singapore (2026)

Brand & model Cell tech Peak efficiency Temp coefficient Power warranty
Aiko Neostar (Rezeca's current choice)N-type ABCup to 24.5%-0.26%/°C30 years
Trina Vertex S+N-type TOPConup to 22.8%-0.29%/°C30 years
LONGi EcoLifeBack-contact (BC)up to 24.7%-0.24 to -0.26%/°C30 years
Jinko Tiger NeoN-type TOPCon~22.5%~ -0.29%/°C~30 years
REC Alpha PureHJT~22.3 to 22.6%25 years

Specifications for the Aiko Neostar, Trina Vertex S+, and LONGi EcoLife are taken from current manufacturer datasheets (2025-2026). Jinko and REC figures are approximate, based on publicly available data, and vary by model. Exact specifications vary by the specific model quoted, so always confirm with your installer.

Aiko Neostar: the panel Rezeca installs today

Aiko's Neostar uses N-type ABC (All Back Contact) cell technology and delivers up to 24.5% module efficiency, among the highest available for residential panels. By moving all the electrical contacts to the back of the cell, ABC panels capture more sunlight on the front surface, which means more power from the same roof area, a genuine advantage on compact landed-home roofs. The Neostar pairs this with a strong -0.26%/°C temperature coefficient, partial-shading optimisation, micro-crack resistance, and a clean all-black aesthetic. Crucially, it carries a 30-year product and 30-year performance warranty, with guaranteed output of around 88.85% at year 30.

Rezeca has been an Aiko partner since 2024, and was among the first installers in Singapore to bring in and deploy Aiko's ABC panels, right as the technology entered the local market. After installing across the major brands over 17 years, Rezeca standardises on the Aiko Neostar today because, in our assessment, ABC technology currently offers the best combination of efficiency, heat performance, aesthetics, and warranty for Singapore landed homes. When a clearly superior technology emerges, our recommendation will follow the evidence, as it has in the past.

Trina Vertex S+: a strong value performer we have installed widely

The Trina Vertex S+ uses N-type i-TOPCon cell technology, reaching up to 22.8% efficiency with a -0.29%/°C temperature coefficient. It offers an award-winning full-black design, dual-glass reliability, and a 25-year product plus 30-year power warranty. A Trina partner since 2021, Rezeca has installed Trina panels across many residential and commercial projects, and they remain a dependable, cost-effective Tier-1 option. Their efficiency and temperature coefficient trail the premium back-contact panels slightly, which is why our current standard is Aiko, but Trina remains a sound choice where value is the priority.

LONGi EcoLife: high efficiency back-contact technology

The LONGi EcoLife range uses back-contact (BC) cell technology and reaches up to 24.7% efficiency on its premium double-glass model, the highest peak figure in this comparison, with a temperature coefficient of -0.24 to -0.26%/°C depending on model. The range spans single-glass options (around 23.5 to 24.5% efficiency) and a premium double-glass version (24.7%, Class A fire rating), all with a 30-year power warranty and anti-shading technology. Rezeca has installed LONGi on residential projects in the past, and it is a strong high-efficiency option, though our current standard recommendation is the Aiko Neostar.

Jinko Tiger Neo: a capable value alternative

Jinko's Tiger Neo uses N-type TOPCon technology similar to Trina, with efficiency around 22.5% and competitive pricing. It is a widely installed, Tier-1 option with a solid global track record, and Rezeca has used Jinko on commercial projects. A reasonable value choice that sits in the same performance tier as the Trina Vertex S+.

REC Alpha Pure: capable HJT, but harder to justify on value

REC's Alpha Pure series uses HJT (Heterojunction) cell technology, giving it a strong temperature coefficient (around -0.24 to -0.26%/°C) and low degradation. It is a capable premium panel that Rezeca has installed on residential projects in the past. However, two points are worth being clear about. First, on ownership: REC, despite its Norwegian heritage and Singapore operational base, is owned by India's Reliance Industries, which acquired it in 2021. Second, on value: REC's Alpha Pure typically carries a price premium of roughly 20% or more over comparable panels, while its peak efficiency (around 22.3 to 22.6%) actually trails the Aiko Neostar and LONGi EcoLife, and its 25-year warranty is shorter than the 30-year power warranties on the leading alternatives. In other words, you often pay more for REC without gaining efficiency or warranty coverage, which is why it is no longer our recommendation for Singapore landed homes.

So which panel should you choose?

  • Rezeca's current recommendation: Aiko Neostar, for the best balance of efficiency, heat tolerance, aesthetics, and 30-year warranty.
  • For strong value with a 30-year power warranty: Trina Vertex S+.
  • For the highest peak efficiency: LONGi EcoLife (premium back-contact).
  • Capable alternatives: Jinko Tiger Neo (value tier, similar to Trina), REC Alpha Pure (premium, but harder to justify on price versus efficiency and warranty).

For most Singapore landed homes, the decision comes down to efficiency versus budget. The premium back-contact panels (Aiko, LONGi) cost more upfront but generate more electricity per square metre and hold their performance longer in heat, which usually wins over a 30-year horizon, especially on smaller roofs where every panel counts.

The bottom line

There is no single "best" panel for everyone, but for Singapore's climate the priorities are clear: high efficiency, a low temperature coefficient, low degradation, and a manufacturer that will honour its warranty. Over 17 years Rezeca has installed across Aiko, Trina, LONGi, Jinko, and REC. As a Trina partner since 2021 and an early Aiko partner since 2024, we were among the first in Singapore to adopt ABC technology, and today we standardise on the Aiko Neostar because, in our hands-on experience, its ABC technology currently delivers the best combination of performance and value for Singapore conditions. We select the right system for each home based on roof, budget, and goals, and our recommendation evolves as the technology does.
