District 21, covering Upper Bukit Timah, Clementi Park and Ulu Pandan, is a leafy western district of landed homes and institutions. Rezeca Renewables has installed solar here since 2009, from bungalows to larger institutional rooftops. A landed system typically costs S$1,200 to S$2,000 per kWp, and most homes recover the cost in three to six years, after which the power is close to free for the life of the system.
Every roof is quoted individually, but as a 2026 guide: a semi-detached home usually takes around 12 to 20 kWp and a bungalow around 25 to 50 kWp, from roughly S$15,000 upward depending on size, roof type and equipment. At the 2026 SP tariff of about 34.78 cents per kWh including GST, most of the saving comes from offsetting daytime use, with excess exported for a credit.
