District 15, the East Coast, takes in Katong, Joo Chiat, Siglap, Frankel and Marine Parade, a popular landed-home district where many homes enjoy open, low-shade roofs that suit solar well. Rezeca Renewables has installed rooftop solar across the East Coast since 2009. A landed system here typically costs S$1,200 to S$2,000 per kWp, and most homes recover the cost in three to six years, after which the power is close to free for the life of the system.
Every roof is quoted individually, but as a 2026 guide: a terrace house usually takes around 6 to 12 kWp, a semi-detached home around 12 to 20 kWp, and a bungalow around 25 to 50 kWp, from roughly S$8,000 upward depending on size, roof type and equipment. At the 2026 SP tariff of about 34.78 cents per kWh including GST, most of the saving comes from offsetting daytime use, with excess exported for a credit.
